Organic bath and body for the littles
If you're like me, when you hear "certified organic farm," you probably think of fruits and veggies. Bath and body products? Not so much.
Until I was introduced to Babo Botanicals, a new line of high-quality children's bath and body products made on--you guessed it--a certified organic farm in New York. Babo relies on botanical ingredients for its shampoos, conditioners, lotions and soaps. No sulfates, no phthalates, no parabens, no petroleum-based products--none of the problematic ingredients we try to avoid in our kids' products. And the company commits to not using dairy, soy or high allergy nut derivatives in its products--great news for those of us parenting children with allergies.
The extra-gentle Oatmilk Calendula products are perfect for infants' sensitive skin, while the Berry Primrose shampoo and conditioning spray smooths and detangles curly heads. I've also made a mental note of the Rosemary Tea Tree Lice Repel shampoo and leave-in conditioner, if we're ever in need of a natural lice repellant (fingers crossed on that one!)
Right now I'm particularly loving the pair of Swim and Sport products that were among the items Babo sent our family to try out. The conditioning spray, with its aloe base, is perfect pick-me-up for my daughter's tight corkscrews. A few sprays on squished curls and my fingers slide right through. When used before we head to the pool, it protects hair from the chlorine and sun. Afterward, the shampoo is a gentle means of washing out the pool nastiness--all without harsh chemicals. The yummy melon-tropical-outdoorsy scent is pure bonus.
And since we're always on the look out for easy gift ideas: the packaging of their gifts sets is excellent. I could have taken the goodie-packed jute bag right from the shipping box to a baby shower without changing a thing.
