Beauty in black and white

I am not a very frilly gal--my tastes run more toward simple and clean than flowers and lace. So it's no surprise that I've fallen in love with the silhouette cards of Finali Design.

The understated ink drawings by the Seattle-based artist perfectly capture the small moments of parenting and childhood, from the boy in his superhero cape to a child atop a parent's shoulders. They make a beautiful option for thank you cards, gift tags, or simple notes of congratulations.

But what really sets my heart pitter-pattering is the thought of custom made cards with an illustration made from a photo of my own family. (Wouldn't that make a unique birth announcement?) If anything could inspire me to pick up a pen more often, surely it's these.
